We noticed a big difference in the road as soon as we turned onto the Cassiar Highway. The road is definitely more of a secondary road than what we have been on these last weeks. However, overall, the surface isn’t too bad and there aren’t a lot of rough patches. Just after we turned onto it, there was a sign alerting of wildlife. No sooner than Paul had read it than we came across a Dall sheep in the middle of the road! After stopping to take some pictures, it decided to head over to the ditch so we could pass through.

We had another beautiful day for driving – hot with nice blue skies. We’ve had over a week of this now. We expect it to last just a couple of more days before turning cooler.
We checked out a campground south of Dease Lake which was run by the Lions Club but decided to go back into Dease Lake to a private campground with hookups since we want to drop the trailer if the weather is good and drive the Telegraph Creek Road on Sunday. We didn’t want to risk leaving the trailer in a park with no one around for the day. The Lions Club park was completely empty when we arrived at 3 pm. Getting to the private park also allowed us to get some wi-fi since we haven’t had any cell signal for a few days.
Tomorrow, driving the Telegraph Creek Road.
