We had a nice night camped overlooking the river at Teslin. After supper Joyce headed down to the lake to try fishing from the shore. Nothing was interested in any of the lures I used, but we did have a chance to watch a beaver. First, he swam by where Joyce was fishing and then stopped a bit down amongst the weeds. Paul watched him pull out branches to chew on – he stayed there for quite some time.
The next morning we headed out again, stopping just before the Cassiar Highway, at the last Territorial Park in the Yukon before we crossed the border into BC. We were the first into the campground, and thus got a choice site – once again right along the river. This time, all Joyce managed was to get snagged on a rock and lose her spinner – she gave up pretty quickly after that because the bugs were really coming out down at the river! We also enjoyed what will probably be our last campfire for some time. Once we get to BC we expect a full campfire ban for the entire province.

Tomorrow we’ll head south on the Cassiar Highway!
